H. Allen Hill, Jr. received his undergraduate and law school degrees from the University of Texas. He is admitted to practice in the courts of the State of Texas as well as the federal courts of the Western District, Southern District, and Northern Districts of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Mr. Hill has had an extensive career in both private and public practice:
Mr. Hill served with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office as the Chief of its Intake Division, Chief of the Special Crimes Division, and Chief of the Public Integrity Unit. As an assistant attorney general for the Texas Attorney General, Mr. Hill litigated eminent domain lawsuits and served as Special Assistant to Attorney General Crawford C. Martin. Mr. Hill has served as presiding judge for the City of Austin municipal courts. He has also served as Special Counsel to the City of Austin Ethics Commission, Special Counsel to the Select Joint Committee of the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate, Public Servants Standard of Conduct Advisory Committee.
In his private practice, Mr. Hill has a general business practice with an emphasis on business acquisitions, and on real estate sales, closing, and development. His clients include a wide variety of businesses including healthcare, veterinary, automotive parts, oil distribution, trade and industry groups, regulatory representation, restaurants, automobile dealerships, and retail sales. Mr. Hill also has substantial involvement in representation regarding the acquisition and sale of ongoing businesses, including professional practices. Some of Mr. Hill’s representative experience includes complex federal and state litigation, including business, consumer, and employment law litigation, and extensive work with state and federal administrative agencies, legislative representation before the Texas Legislature, and serving as an expert witness in whistle-blower and wrongful discharge litigation and title company closing practices. A major part of his work involves the closing of residential and complex commercial transactions.
Mr. Hill has an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubble. He has taught courses at Central Texas College and Austin Community College. Mr. Hill enjoys old movies, barbecue and opera, and in his spare time is a fervent supporter of University of Texas sports.
